Storm Pattern Rug

This rug is a gorgeous example of fine Navajo artistry and is second to none. This incredible hand-woven traditional rug is made entirely from genuine wool. This is a very tight rug with a warp of 9-10 strands/inch and 30-32 wefts per linear inch. This rug has the Navajo Storm pattern, in which the center is the hogan and the number of figures inside represent the number of children the weaver has. At the corners are the sacred mountains and a trail connects the hogan to the sacred mountains. All of the wool for this rug has been hand-carded, spun and woven by Navajo rug weaver Sally Dickson, who often makes her own dyes. This rug has natural vegetable dyes. This gorgeous hand woven genuine Navajo rug is 50-1/2" by 29". You'll receive the rug in the pictures below.Sally Dickson (116849) has been weaving beautiful rugs for decades, since she taught herself as a young girl of 10. She uses all natural materials, like hand-carded wool and natural vegetable dyes, which she often makes herself, depending on the type of rug she's making. Sally makes extremely high-quality rugs with an exceptionally tight weave, and each rug takes 2 to 3 months to make on a loom. She makes rugs in many patterns, including the Storm pattern, the Yei-Bi-Cheii pattern, the 2 Grey Hills pattern, the Granada pattern, the simple pattern, etc.

This incredible hand-woven traditional rug is made entirely from genuine wool. All of the wool for this Storm rug has been hand-carded, spun and woven by Navajo rug weaver Louise Johnson. The red dye is made from natural material indigenous to the reservation and the different shades of gray and white come from different shades of sheep. Louise is so old she was born before they officially recorded the birth-date when registering Native Americans. Because of this, she is not even sure how old she is, though she guesses between 85 and 90. Unfortunately, Louise will not be making many more rugs and we were lucky to get this one. This gorgeous genuine Navajo rug is 40" by 33-1/2", about 3 feet, 4 inches by 2-1/2 feet.

This Authentic Vintage Navajo Indian Ganado Dazzler Wool Rug is a true one of a kind highly collectible piece of hand made Native American art. We estimate that this rug was made pre 1940s. It was made the traditional old fashioned way- spun by hand. This Navajo made rug was masterfully created from genuine wool. There's some wear which is natural. But, for a pre-40s rug it is in excellent condition. The southwestern Pueblo Indian Ganado Dazzler design was created from orange, red, black, and gray wool that was colored with dyes made from natural vegetation indigenous to the Navajo Indian reservation. This rug is a true one of a kind collectors item! This wool rug is 36" by 57".The Ganado style Navajo rug generally consists of one stepped diamond shaped center medallion or two connected stepped diamonds. Stepped and embellished triangles in each corner make up a quincunx pattern all surrounded by a geometric border. The colors consist of red, gray, ivory, black and sometimes brown. The predominant "Ganado red" color is colored with synthetic dyes as was the black color.

The white, gray, and black shades come from white and black sheep. For the different shades of gray, the black and white or cream wools are hand mixed before being spun into yarn. This is a tight, symmetrical rug with a warp of 10 strands/inch and over 20 wefts per linear inch. All of the wool for this rug has been hand carded, spun, and woven by Navajo rug weaver Louise Johnson. This Navajo Indian Rug comes from the heart of the Navajo Nation. This incredible hand woven Eye-Dazzler rug comes from the Tuba City/Grand Canyon area of North East Arizona. The Spider Woman herself couldn't make one as nice as this! This Navajo made rug was hand woven from genuine hand carded wool. It was woven by master Navajo Indian rug weaver Susie Yellowhair. She has a true talent for rug weaving and it shows here. The Dazzler design was created from white, red, tan, gray, and black wool yarn that was colored with dyes made from natural vegetation indigenous to the Navajo reservation. It is 43-1/4" by 26-1/2". Don't let this one pass you by!!!

Ganado Rug

This rug is very soft! You could wrap a baby in it. A gorgeous example of fine Navajo artistry. This incredible hand-woven traditional rug is made entirely from genuine wool. This is a tight, symmetrical rug with a warp of 8 strands/inch and over 18 wefts per linear inch. And it's real soft, with a vivid Ganado red. All of the wool for this rug has been hand-carded, spun and woven by Navajo rug weaver Tanya Francis, daughter of Ida Brown. This gorgeous hand woven genuine Navajo rug is 35-1/2" long by 23" wide, about 3 feet by 2 feet. Tanya Francis currently lives in Chinle, AZ and grew up in Lupton, Arizona. She is married and has one daughter. She is the daughter of famed Navajo Rug Weaver Ida Brown. Tanya uses quality hand carded wool and makes some of the softest rugs we've seen.

This is a tight, symmetrical rug with a warp of 8 strands/inch and over 18 wefts per linear inch. And it's real soft, with a Traditional brown Navajo dazzler pattern. All of the wool for this rug has been hand-carded, spun and woven by Navajo rug weaver. Donna Yellowhair gets a lot of help from her daughter Tanya Francis. This gorgeous hand woven genuine Navajo rug is 46" by 33-1/2", about 3-1/2 feet by 2-1/2 feet. Donna Yellowhair (619661) is from Naahtee Canyon in Arizona. She learned the art of rug weaving from her grandmother and aunt as a child as she watched them. Her grandmother is 97 years old and still cards and spindles the yarn. Eight years ago Donna resumed working as a rug weaver. She buys carded yarn at the trading post, spindles it and weaves on a loom. Each rug takes about a week to weave. She creates rugs in all sizes and traditional patterns, such as the Chinle/Wide Rooms style, two Gray Hills, Ganado, Yeii-bi-chei, Storm and pictorial.
